When families come to Playful Therapy 4 Little Minds, they can expect:
Whether your child is navigating anxiety, big emotions, behavioural and social challenges, life transitions, or simply needs a little extra support, therapy becomes a place where they can grow with confidence and have fun along the way.

Evidence-based psychological support to nurture emotional wellbeing and resilience. Play is at the heart of the process, providing young clients with a natural, engaging way to express feelings, process experiences, and develop healthy coping skills. Through evidence based techniques, creative exploration, and a safe, supportive environment, we help young people where they are at in their journey.

Integrative Play Therapy is a flexible approach to play therapy that draws from multiple therapeutic methods rather than relying on just one. Using an integrative approach, each session is aimed at the individual needs, strengths, and developmental stage of the child. By combining creative play, relationship-building, and evidence-based strategies, integrative play therapy helps children express emotions, build resilience, develop problem-solving skills, and work through challenges in a way that feels natural and safe for them.
“Toys are children’s words and play is their language.” — Gary L Landreth

Filial Therapy is a form of play therapy that actively involves caregivers in the healing process. With guidance and support, caregivers learn play-based skills that help strengthen their relationship with their child, improve communication, and support emotional growth. This therapeutic approach empowers caregivers by turning playtime into a safe space for children to express feelings, resolve worries, and build confidence, while giving caregivers tools to better understand and connect with the young person.
"Play has been called the "language of childhood," and if we can learn (or relearn) this language, we can build a more satisfying relationship with our children." (Van Fleet, 2012, p.3)

This directive approach supports children in building foundational play skills that nurture imagination, communication, and social confidence. Through guided, child-led play, young people learn how to explore ideas, solve problems, and build relationships in ways that feel natural and enjoyable. This approach celebrates each child’s strengths, encouraging curiosity and creativity while gently expanding their capacity for connection, resilience, and independent play.
